The crash, which happened on Friday afternoon, May 3 in Mount Pleasant, occurred shortly after Bus 4 left the Westlake High School campus in Thornwood. Data Breach Reported At School District In Westchester A data breach may have exposed information related to some students at a school district in Northern Westchester.  The breach was announced by Mount Pleasant Central School District Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo on Friday, Feb. 17, who said that several student email passwords may have been compromised by the incident.  After the data breach was discovered on Friday, an investigation into the matter found that several passwords belonging to Grade 7 students in the district had been posted to a shared Google Classroom during the 2020-2021 school year. Water Main Break Leads To Early Dismissal At High School, Middle School In Westchester A water main break has resulted in early dismissals at a high school and middle school in Westchester. The break "involves a significant 12-inch pipe that has no timeline for completion," Mount Pleasant Central School Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo said in an email to the community late Thursday morning, May 12.  Giarrizzo said there is currently no water at both Westlake High School, Westlake Middle School and the district office. HS Senior Killed In Single-Vehicle Northern Westchester Crash  A teenager was killed in a one-car crash in Northern Westchester, officials said. Police said that Westlake High School senior Sarah Lynch, a member of the class of 2021, was driving in Thornwood on Kensico Road near the intersection of Linda Avenue at approximately noon on Monday, Feb. 15 when she lost control and struck a utility pole.
