Workers Fall Ill After Contact With Unknown Chemical At Westchester Facility
A hazmat crew responded to a research facility in Northern Westchester after an unknown chemical caused two lab workers to become ill. The incident happened on Thursday morning, Aug. 3, when firefighters were sent to the Westchester County Labs and Research Facility at 10 Dana Rd. in Valhalla after the two workers became ill from contact with an unknown chemical. According to the Valhalla Fire Department, arriving firefighters were told that the chemical had an ammonia-like odor. HazMat Team Called To Peekskill PD After Fentanyl Exposure Scare
The Peekskill Police Department was evacuated after several officers and an arrestee were potentially exposed to fentanyl in the booking area of the police station on Nelson Avenue. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, when a white powdery substance, later identified as fentanyl, was "introduced" into the booking area, said Peekskill Police Lt. School Buses Burst Out In Flames In Westchester
Buses burst out in flames in a bus lot in Armonk for the second time this school year. The Armonk Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the bus garage on MacDonald Avenue Friday evening at about 8 p.m. The first unit arrived on the scene immediately and confirmed two small school buses fully involved with multiple cars parked nearby, the Armonk Fire Department said. Crews from the Armonk Fire Department responded and started to extinguish the fire within approximately 10 minutes of dispatch.
