Newly Identified Chemical In Drinking Water Could Be Toxic, Study Says
A newly discovered compound in drinking water has raised questions about its potential health risks. The chemical, known as chloronitramide anion (Cl–N–NO₂⁻), was found in all samples from 10 US drinking water systems that use chloramines, according to a study published in the journal Science on Thursday, Nov. 21. First West Nile Case Of Year Confirmed In Westchester
The first human case of West Nile Virus this year has been identified in Westchester. The case was confirmed in an Elmsford resident with multiple underlying medical conditions, the Westchester County Department of Health said, noting that the person "is recovering at home."
