Israeli Flag Defaced At Hudson Valley Service Center, Police Investigating
For the second time in two weeks, an Israeli flag has been the target of vandals at a Hudson Valley service station.
The incident occurred in Rockland County early Friday, May 24, at the Monsey Service Center on Main Street in Monsey.
According to Lauren Pepper, the manager of the center and daughter of the owner, Joe Kurek, another flag was stolen on Friday, May 17.
They quickly replaced the stolen flag with a new one that was defaced sometime in the overnight hours of Thursday, May 23, into Friday, May 24, said Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police.

A suspect has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing a veteran’s monument inside a Westchester park, police announced.
On Saturday, April 23, the Veterans “Honor Roll” monument at Ma Riis Park in Harrison - which represents wartime vets from the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and other conflicts - was spray-painted and damaged by a vandal, prompting a police investigation.

Nearly Two Dozen Rose-Adorned Street Signs Stolen In Westchester
There are lots of things that make Briarcliff Manor a quaint and great place to live and one of them is the street signs adorned with roses.
But someone, or a group of people, are stealing or damaging the signs, ripping them right off their posts, said Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli.
The signs started disappearing in September and to date, 21 signs are now in need of replacement, Zegarelli said in a letter to residents.
Each sign costs $210, and then add the cost of replacement poles, concrete footings, sign braces, and labor brings the cost to more than $10,000 to get the replacement…
