New Update: Lanes Reopen On I-684 After Crash Involving Overturned Vehicle This story has been updated. All lanes have reopened after a crash involving an overturned vehicle blocked lanes of I-684, causing lengthy traffic delays.  The incident, which involved two tractor-trailers, was reported on Monday, April 10 around 2:10 p.m. northbound near Exit 4 (Route 172) in Bedford.  The overturned vehicle blocked two lanes of traffic for several hours. Lane Closures Scheduled On Long Stretch Of I-684 The New York State Department of Transportation has announced upcoming lane closures on a stretch of I-684 in Westchester County due to roadway paving.  Two lanes are expected to close along I-684 northbound between the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison and Exit 4 (Route 172) in Bedford, officials said. The closures are set to take place each night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday, April 24, through Thursday, May 5, to facilitate roadway paving activities, according to the announcement.

Route 172 Reopens Following Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash This story has been updated. A busy Bedford roadway has reopened following a single-vehicle crash that injured a 17-year-old girl. The crash took place around 8:20 a.m., Monday, June 10, on route 172, (South Bedford Road) lost control of her vehicle and hit a guardrail and rolled over, said Bedford Police Lt. Andrew Bellantone. The girl was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Westchester Medical Center, with unknown injuries, he said. "She was alert and talking when we reached her," he said." Both the right and center lanes have reopened on a stretch of I-684 after a serious crash caused their closure for more than two hours on Thursday afternoon. The northbound crash occurred at Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah with stopped traffic at the scene and stop-and-go delays back to Route 172 (Exit 4) in Bedford before the lanes reopened just before 4 p.m. Hour-long delays were reported.
