Car Bursts Into Flames, Causes Temporary Road Closure In Westchester Part of a busy route in Northern Westchester was briefly closed after a vehicle went up in flames. The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 30 around 4:45 p.m., when crews in Somers responded to Route 139 for a reported motor vehicle fire. According to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, arriving crews quickly arrived at the scene of the blaze and doused the flames with water within seconds, quickly extinguishing it. Rollover Crash: Person Hospitalized, Main Road Closed In Westchester A vehicle rollover in Northern Westchester left one person hospitalized and caused a main road to be briefly closed to traffic.  The crash happened on Saturday, May 27 around 3 p.m., when first responders in Somers were sent to Route 139 between Plumbrook Road and Van Rensselaer Road for a reported vehicle rollover, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.
