Woman In Distress Attempts To Bite Officers, New Canaan Police Say A woman has been charged after police say she attempted to bite officers while she was in distress. Kaela Augustine, 26, of Queens, turned herself in to New Canaan Police on Monday, Dec. 2 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of Park Street near Pine Street on a report of a woman in distress inside a vehicle on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Officers attempted to make contact with the woman, later identified as Augustine, who was inside the vehicle with two young children, police say. Woman Found Stopped In Intersection Under Influence - Of Vanilla Extract, New Canaan Police Say A woman is facing a driving under the influence charge after New Canaan Police allegedly discovered her behind the wheel of a stopped vehicle in an intersection with her eyes closed. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Grove Street and Pine Street at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23 after hearing a report of a vehicle stopped in an intersection. Police arrived to discover that the vehicle’s operator, identified as 50-year-old Stefanie Warner-Grise, was sitting in the driver’s seat with her eyes closed.
