Greenwich Bank Robbery Suspect Surrenders To Police A man wanted for the robbery of a Fairfield County bank turned himself in to police one day after his wanted photo was plastered everywhere by the media. Joseph Heffner, aka “JC”, age 42, of Greenwich, surrendered to Greenwich Police at 11 am Thursday, June 2, after learning that there was a warrant for his arrest. On the morning of Wednesday, May 11, Heffner allegedly entered the M&T Bank in Cos Cob and demanded money, Capt. Suspect Identified After Bank Robbery In Cos Cob Police have released the identity of a Fairfield County man who allegedly robbed an area bank last month. An arrest warrant was issued by Greenwich Police on Tuesday, May 31, for Joseph C. Heffner, 42, of Greenwich, in connection with the robbery of the M&T Bank on the Post Road in Cos Cob. Police are currently working to track down Heffner, said Lt. Martin O’Reilly, of the Greenwich Police. At around 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, the man walked into the M&T Bank on East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob and demanded cash, Greenwich Police said. He was given an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a man standing 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds. Warning Issued After Card Skimmer Found At Bank In Hudson Valley Police have issued a warning after a card skimmer was found at a Rockland County bank. The Ramapo Police Department said they are investigating several incidents of skimmer devices installed on ATMs at local banks. The department is warning customers at banks and other ATMs to check for any suspicious equipment when using the machine.
