“He’s A Fighter”: Westchester Man Raises Funds For Family Dog After Brutal Off-Leash Attack A Westchester man is raising money to help cover extensive medical bills for a beloved family dog that is fighting for his life after being brutally attacked by two off-leash dogs. The incident happened on Wednesday, Dec. 11, when Mikey, a 5-year-old rescue dog, was being walked by an employee of the White Plains-based Paws Barkley dog walking service.  During the walk, Mikey was viciously attacked by two large, off-leash dogs, described as a gray pit bull and a black mix. Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard said that Montefiore applied for a Certificate of Need (CON) with the New York State Department of Health seeking approval to close the hospital this year. Man Rescued After Arm Becomes Stuck Between Rollers At Manufacturer A 33-year-old man is in intensive care after his arm became stuck in a large machine while at work late Monday afternoon. Michael Avery of Wappingers Falls was rescued around 4:35 p.m. Monday at the Dunmore Corporation in Brewster, after his arm was caught between two large rollers in a machine, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
