The children of a Westchester family whose parents' home was destroyed by the floodwaters of Storm Ida are asking the public for help through a GoFundMe. Kayla and Karissa Romanelli said their parents' Mamaroneck home was devasted by flooding with more than 10 feet of water rushing through the basement and first floor of their home. Home Destroyed During Height Of Severe Thunderstorms In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley family lost their home after a large tree took off the back half of the house during an intense thunderstorm. The incident took place around 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, in Orange County when a series of storms with high winds moved through sending the large tree crashing into the home at 8 Carpenter Road in Chester. Massive Tree Slams Into Mount Vernon House
While neighbors dealt with whipping winds and flash flood conditions, a Mount Vernon family had a bigger problem Monday morning when a massive tree came coming down on their house, leaving extensive damage. A Nuber Avenue family received quite the scare at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning, as wind gusts reached upwards of 40 mph in the area, unearthing the tree, which struck the side and roof of the home. Despite the damage to the home, which is currently uninhabitable, no injuries were reported. The tree could be seen resting on the side of the house later in the day on Monday.

Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In White Plains
It took firefighters several hours to contain a blaze that broke out early Sunday afternoon in White Plains. The two-alarm fire, at 18 Park Ave., erupted around noon. The home sustained heavy damaged and the family has been displaced. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
