Joe Gomez has worked in news rooms all across the world.

He started as a radio news reporter at Newsradio 850 KOA in Denver shortly after leaving the University of Colorado at Boulder. Gomez then went on to work as a reporter in Seattle, Houston, Dallas and Washington DC, where he was a National Correspondent for NBC News Radio.

He has appeared on National Television in the US, the UK and in Pakistan as a reporter and commentator.

Baltimore Police Officer's Husband Killed In Shooting The husband of a Baltimore City Police lieutenant was shot to death on Jan. 25, according to WJZ. James E. Blue III was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the 1400 block of Walker Avenue around 2:45 p.m., Baltimore City Police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Students Pepper-Sprayed In 2 Fights At Baltimore County School Police were called to Perry High School after a pair of fights broke out and students had to be pepper-sprayed, according to a letter from school officials obtained by NottinghamMD. Two separate physical altercations broke out at the school involving several students on Jan. 26 at around 11:30 a.m., school principal Craig Reed said in the letter. Maryland Jeep Driver Dies In Fauquier Crash: Police A Maryland man died in a head-on crash in Virginia, according to police. The crash happened on Jan. 21, at 6:51 p.m. along Route 17 north of Interstate 66 when a 2021 Jeep Wrangler traveling north on Route 17 crossed over and hit a 2017 Dodge Ram head-on, Virginia State Police said. The driver of the Jeep, Gilbert F. Dzakpasu, 43, of Germantown died at the scene of the crash as a result of his injuries The driver of the Dodge, a 22-year-old male, of Marshall, Va., suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The explosion happened near Boswell and Frederick Roads, and it reportedly damaged a large amount of the roadway. Maryland Man Killed On Florida Highway: Police A 52-year-old man from Maryland was hit and killed by an SUV while standing on the shoulder of a Florida highway, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The crash happened on Jan. 26, at around 5:20 p.m., on I-75 in north Tampa when the driver of an SUV failed to negotiate a curve near the southbound Bruce B. Deyonah Jenkins was last seen on Jan. 26, in the 6200 block of Greenleigh Ave., 21220, according to Baltimore County Police. Gunman Gets Life In Prison For Deadly Baltimore Shooting Spree: DA A man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 52 years for a shooting spree that claimed the life of one and injured three others in Baltimore, according to officials. Donte Patterson committed the shootings in April of 2019 near Mondawin Mall, killing Levar Mullen-El and injuring three additional victims in what prosecutors call a revenge killing. Two Men Murdered In Dorchester County: Police Two men were found murdered in Dorchester County, according to police. On Jan. 25, shortly before midnight investigators responded to the 800 block of Park Lane in Cambridge, upon their arrival two deceased men were located inside a building, Maryland State Police said. Police are investigating their murder as a homicide and their bodies have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Covid-19 Deaths Break All Time Record In Maryland Maryland has reported the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in January for a single month since the pandemic began, according to The Washington Post. The total number of COVID-19 deaths for January is 1,475 which is more than double the deaths reported in December, the state said. Heartbroken Mom Speaks Out After Missing Son Found Dead In Maryland The mother of a 17-year old boy believed to have been killed apparently had been pleading with him to get help about being bullied, according to WUSA 9 report. Jailyn Jones, a 12th grader at Northwest High School, was found dead on Jan. 24, on the 18900 block of Grotto Lane in Germantown. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
