Man Killed After Accidentally Falling Off Bridge In Hudson Valley A man was killed after he accidentally fell off a bridge in the Hudson Valley after his car broke down and he was attempting to get to safety. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:50 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Man Dies After Falling Attempting To Retrieve Downed Drone In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man from the area was killed after reaching for a downed drone and falling more than 250 feet in the Hudson Valley.  The incident took place in Orange County in Deerpark around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, said Trooper Steven Nevel. State police responded to the Hawk’s Nest in the town of Deerpark after the victim, identified as Sullivan County resident Binh Ledinh, age 42, of Lumberland, was reported missing by his wife, Nevel said. Man Found Dead After Unoccupied Vehicle Discovered On Side Of Hudson Valley Roadway A man was found dead after state police were contacted after a vehicle was found unoccupied on the side of a Hudson Valley roadway. The incident took around 9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23, in Orange County. That's when the Town of Deerpark Police Department called state police for assistance after locating an unoccupied motorcycle on the shoulder of State Route 97 also known as the Hawk's Nest, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Drones Used To Rescue Stranded Hikers Near Breakneck Ridge The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office turned to technology to help rescue two hikers who found themselves in a precarious position near Breakneck Ridge in Philipstown. Two hikers called the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, June 9, after becoming stranded on a steep precipice approximately a half mile south from Breakneck Ridge, Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. said.  The Cold Spring Fire Department and New York State Park Police located the hikers at approximately 5 p.m., but were unable to rescue them due to the terrain.
