Search Temporarily Halted In Hudson River Area For Missing Woman
A large-scale search for a woman missing in or near the Hudson River has been temporarily called off due to inclement weather. According to the Piermont Police Department, first responders from across Rockland County were forced to call off the search for the woman who has been since Thursday night. Rockland County Sheriff's Office Chief Barbera said the department has deployed its Marine and K-9 unit to help with the search for the "young" woman in the area of the new Tappan Zee Bridge. Body Of Bridge Jumper Pulled From Hudson River
The body of a 53-year-old woman who jumped from the Mid-Hudson Bridge between Highland and Poughkeepsie was pulled from the Hudson River on Monday afternoon after a two-and-a-half hour search, authorities said. The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was a resident of Marlboro in Ulster County, Town of Lloyd Police said. ID Released For Man Who Went Missing In Hudson River
The search for a man who went missing Tuesday afternoon in the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie will resume Wednesday morning after temporarily being suspended in the evening, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said. The 49-year-old man has been identified as Paul Machettia of the City of Poughkeepsie. Macchettia entered the water to help after one of five people who entered the Hudson River began to struggle to stay afloat. As Trump University was the target of an investigation by then-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman more than four years ago, Donald Trump and his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, were told through a Hudson Valley-based attorney that Schneiderman was accused of sexually abusing two women.
