Hours-Long Standoff Ends In Suicide In Area A tense hours-long standoff ended when an area resident with a rifle killed himself. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. said the incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23,  when the town of Kent Ambulance along with the EmStar medics were dispatched to Pudding Street in the Town of Putnam Valley for a man with chest pain. On Monday, July 22 at 1:40 p.m., the Town of Carmel Police received a report of a missing 55-year-old Mahopac resident, know ID'd as Richard Dudyshyn, Carmel Police Chief Michael Cazzari said.
