Police Issue 73 Tickets In I-684 'Speed Week' Detail
“Speed Week” got off to a rousing start this week, as state police troopers doled out scores of tickets during a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Westchester. State police issued 57 speeding tickets, five tickets to motorists not wearing seatbelts and 11 other summons for violations of vehicle and traffic law on Thursday. In total, 73 tickets were given out by troopers. According to state police, speeding is listed as a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all fatal crashes in New York State. Man Turns Himself In For Crash That Killed 9-Year-Old Boy
A 30-year-old man wanted in connection with a crash that occurred just over a year ago on I-95 in Fairfield County and resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy has turned himself in. Casey Savage of Kittery, Maine died on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after suffering a severe head injury in the three-vehicle crash in Westport the night before. Effort Underway To Save Lives On I-95
Law enforcement agencies up and down the east coast are teaming to protect motorists on I-95 as part of the National Drive to Save Lives Campaign. Nearly 50 tickets were doled out during a special speed enforcement detail conducted by New York State Police troopers on the Sprain Brook Parkway in northern Westchester on Tuesday. After several months, Fox News host and former Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro has pleaded guilty to a speeding charge against her. New York State Police troopers stopped Pirro driving 119 miles per hour on Nov. 19 last year in the Town of Nichols, which is in upstate Tioga County near Owego and her hometown Elmira. A teenager is facing multiple charges after allegedly speeding and causing a multi-vehicle crash on a busy roadway in Yorktown over the weekend.
