Couple Facing Drug Charges After Speeding Stop On Taconic, Police Say A speeding stop on the Taconic State Parkway has led to drug charges for a 30-something couple. State troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks observed a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling at speeds in excess of the legally posted speed limit on the Taconic in Pleasant Valley at about 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. Michael Morea, 39, admitted to possessing marijuana in the vehicle and further investigation revealed that he and 32-year-old Samantha Morea couple were also in possession of cocaine.
