The Dutchess County Medical Examiners Office has identified the person found in the woods in Hyde Park, off Route 9G, as Christopher Imperatore, age 31, authorities said. Imperatore was last seen in Hyde Park on Saturday, Aug. 27, and was reported missing on Wednesday, Aug. 31. Body Found In Woods By Hunters In Hudson Valley, Police Say Updated story: Body Found By Hunters ID'd As Missing Hudson Valley Man, Police Say A body was found in a wooded area in the Hudson Valley by hunters. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Town of Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, two hunters were in the woods off Route 9G when they found the body.  The Hyde Park Police responded with the New York State Police Forensic Intelligence Unit and preserved the scene.  The body was removed from the woods by the Dutchess County Medical Exam…

One Killed In Crash Involving Sheriff's Office Cruiser In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a person was killed in a crash involving a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 in Dutchess County, in the Town of Hyde Park on Route 9G at the intersection with Elks Lane. A pedestrian who suffered life-threatening injuries was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where the person was later pronounced dead, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. ID Released For 20-Year-Old Woman Killed In Dutchess Crash The identity of a woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash that caused the closure of a stretch of Route 9G on Friday night has been released. The crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m., in the area of Vlei Road in the town of Rhinebeck. Initial investigation suggests Robert J. Dancy, 35, of Worchester, New York, operating a 1997 Ford Explorer, was traveling southbound on Route 9G, and drove to the left of the center lane markings. Dancy then struck Emily R. Accused Drug Dealer Faces Felony Charge In Area An accused drug dealer was busted with nearly three dozen bags of heroin during a traffic stop on a busy Red Hook road, police said. Members of the Red Hook Police Department stopped Kingston resident Neshon Jowers on Route 9G shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 when he committed a vehicle violation in the area. During the traffic stop, police said that they found Jowers, 37, to be in possession of 34 bags of heroin, eight bags of crack cocaine and four bags of cocaine powder.
