ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Shut Down I-84 For More Than 10 Hours
The identity of the man killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for more than 10 hours on Monday has been released. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent. At approximately 3:48 a.m., a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 36-year-old Sergio Khundiashvili of Brooklyn was traveling in the left lane when the trailer struck the median guardrail, state police said. Teenage Boy Drowns in Area Lake
Click here for an updated story: ID Released For 14-Year-Old Area Drowning Victim A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Lake Tonetta in Southeast, according to multiple sources. The incident took place around 9 p.m. Sunday when several teens were swimming off a floating dock at a neighborhood beach on Shore Drive, officials said. Divers from Mahopac Falls found the teen about 45 minutes after receiving the call that he had not resurfaced. One Hospitalized In Crash That Causes Route 6N Closure
One person was hospitalized Sunday in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 6N and Rose Drive/Stillwater Road in Mahopac. Mahopac Falls Fire, EMS and Fire Police quickly responded with Chief Brian Sacher taking control of the scene as Incident Command, with Capt. Dan Meury handling Operations. Dealing with heavy Sunday midday traffic, Fire police closed the southbound 6N traffic and detoured vehicles across Stillwater Rd. EMT's triaged the victims, with one being transported to Putnam Hospital with minor injuries and one refusing medical attention.

As Poughquag native Ron Casey Jr. neared the end of his life, he requested only one thing: The safety and security of his two boys, Colin and Henry. The community has made that wish come true, raising nearly $70,000 as of Sunday evening on a GoFundMe for the pair. Their father died on March 8 surrounded by family at 42 years old. A 35-year-old man was taken into custody on Thursday night after he allegedly struck a pregnant woman multiple times in a car she was driving in Southeast, state police said. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night, a pregnant woman drove into the parking lot of the New York State Police barracks in Brewster to report a crime in progress.
