The Greene County incident happened at around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Fawn’s Leap, located near the hamlet of Haines Falls in the Town of Hunter. Greene County Sheriff’s officials said a group of teens, all from Brooklyn, was swimming in Kaaterskill Creek when a 16-year-old boy and a friend jumped from a ledge at the top of the falls. Missing 6-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After Slipping Out Of House In Hudson Valley, Police Say After a massive search by police and volunteers, a missing boy was located by police in the Hudson Valley. At around 7:32 a.m., Monday, June 14, the caregiver for the youngster, who is autistic, called 911 to report the 6-year-old had slipped out of a house in Ulster County while she was in another room. Man Who Shot At Officers In Area Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say A 26-year-old man accused of firing gunshots at police officers in the area has been charged with attempted murder. Shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, two officers from the Red Hook Police Department responded to the area of Princeton Street and Columbia Avenue for a property dispute.  During the investigation, while the Red Hook officers were speaking with Keith M. Potik, 26, of Wappinger, he produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at the officers, according to state police. Red Hook Police returned fire in response to the suspect’s actions.
