Lawyers For School District In Westchester Draw Protests For Rape Case Defense Some students and community members demonstrated and protested over arguments made by lawyers for a New York school district following their response to a lawsuit filed by a teen who alleges that she was raped and choked by a bully. A small group of students and parents gathered in Westchester County outside New Rochelle High School after lawyers for the district said that the 14-year-old alleged victim was “negligent” in the alleged incident last year. Parents Pack New Rochelle School Board Meeting Amid Controversy Over Reassigned Coach Parents and area residents packed the house at the latest New Rochelle School Board meeting to show their support for suspended head football coach Lou DiRienzo. The New Rochelle School District announced that the popular coach was being unexpectedly ousted late on Wednesday, Nov. 13, saying that DiRienzo had been “reassigned from his teaching and coaching responsibilities.” A video of the near three-and-a-half-hour meeting can be found here.
