1-Year-Old Boy, Woman Killed In Horrific Two-Vehicle Route 9 Crash
A 1-year-old infant and a 48-year-old woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of Route 9.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 1, on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, in the area of New Hackensack Road, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
An initial investigation revealed a 2017 Honda CRV, driven by Loraine Baker, age 48, of Poughkeepsie, was southbound on Route 9 and rear-ended a southbound 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Hicks said.
Baker was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where she died from her injuries, he added.

Three Killed In Crash Between Tractor-Trailer, Two Cars In Hudson Valley
Three people were killed in a crash involving three vehicles on a stretch of the New York State Thruway in the Hudson Valley.
The crash, involving a tractor-trailer and two cars, happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 in Ulster County near Exit 19 on the southbound side of I-87 in the town of Ulster.
An investigation at the scene revealed that Luc Leblanc, 61, of Sala derry-de-val, Quebec, was operating a 2010 Volvo tractor-trailer, in the right lane when he encountered traffic stopped in front of him at mile marker 88.3, state police said.

Police ID Two Men, Woman Hospitalized After Wrong-Way Head-On Crash
Police have identified three people hospitalized in a wrong-way, head-on crash that caused the closure of a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway this week.
It happened on the southbound side around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in Pleasant Valley just south of Exit 54 (Route 44).
An investigation revealed a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter, operated by Jim George, 42, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, was driving north in the southbound lanes and struck a 2017 Subaru Impreza, state police said. IDs Released For Woman Killed, Man Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash
The identities of a woman who was killed and a man who was critically injured during a two-vehicle crash in the area have been released.
Robin Shenitsky, 62, of Pawling, was killed around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, during the crash on Route 55 in the Town of Pawling near Highland Drive, said Dutchess County Sheriff Capt. John Watterson.
Critically injured was Jorge Rivera, 44, of Poughkeepsie, he added.
According to Watterson, a preliminary investigation found that Rivera, who was driving a 2010 Jeep westbound, was struck head-on by Shenitsky, driving a 2017 Honda Ridgeline.

Woman, 43, Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree On Route 9W
A 43-year-old woman was killed in a one-car crash on Route 9W after hitting a tree, police said.
Jolene E. Jollie of Milton was traveling south around 5:30 p.m. Friday, on Route 9W when her car left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso said.
Jollie, who was the sole occupant in the car was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Janso said.
Lloyd Police were assisted at the scene by Town of Marlboro Police, New York State Police, Highland Fire Department, Marlboro Fire Department and Mobil Life Ambulance. …
