Family Dogs Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Area
A local family had a happy reunion with man’s best friend after a house fire broke out in the area. First responders were dispatched to an Ellen Avenue home in Mahopac after the blaze broke out shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer Jack Casey said. Photos: Oil Spill Reaches Lake Mahopac
More than 200 gallons of oil flowed down a hill, spilled into Lake Mahopac and had to be cleaned up by first responders. The oil spill was reported on Mount Hope Road in Mahopac at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, prompting a heavy response by multiple emergency agencies. Investigation Leads To Charges For Driver After SUV Hits Officer On Route 6
The driver of an SUV is facing multiple charges after striking an officer directing traffic on a busy stretch of Route 6. The incident happened around 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Mahopac. Due to the injuries and the mechanism of injury, the Putnam County sheriff's deputy was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department’s Ambulance where it was determined that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Head-On Rollover Crash Injures Three In Carmel
A rollover crash in Putnam County left three people hospitalized following a head-on collision in Carmel. First responders were dispatched to Drewville Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, police said. Two were transported to Putnam Hospital, and a third was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center following the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. Truck Driver Hospitalized After Rollover Crash In Mahopac
The driver of a dump truck was hospitalized after a rollover crash that brought down a pole and power lines in Mahopac on Wednesday. The still-energized 13,000-volt wires above the wreck on Long Pond Road near Pleasant Road prevented first-responders from approaching or removing the loan driver from the truck, said Tom Beatty of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.
