Man Intentionally Strikes Victim With Vehicle In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly intentionally hitting another man with a vehicle during an argument. The incident took place in Ulster County around 2 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn on State Route 9W in the town of Lloyd, according to New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. When state police arrived on the scene they found the victim, identified as Alan S. Hanson Jr, age 22, of Lloyd. Accused Drug Dealer From Area Caught With Heroin, Crack In Traffic
A traffic stop on Route 44/55 led to the arrest of a Dutchess County woman who was found to be in possession of heroin and crack cocaine, who now faces multiple felony drug charges. New York State Police troopers stopped Poughkeepsie resident Sharnae Campbell for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 44/55 in the town of Lloyd on Tuesday, Oct. 16. During the subsequent stop, probable cause to search the vehicle was established and Campbell was found to be in possession of heroin and crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale. Man Charged With Vehicular Homicide, DWI, Reckless Driving For July 1 Hudson Valley Crash
A 29-year-old man who was driving drunk and recklessly has been charged in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred a month ago in the area, state police said. Ryan B. Williams of Poughkeepsie was arrested as a result of an investigation into the crash on July 1 on Route 299 in the town of Lloyd in Ulster County. Williams is facing felony charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, first-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. A prayer service and viewing have been scheduled for longtime Assemblyman Frank Skartados, who died Sunday from pancreatic cancer. The viewing is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at DiDonato Funeral Services at 1290 Route 9W in Marlboro. Police: Poughkeepsie Man Rips Off Credit Cards, Vehicle In Domestic Dispute
A Poughkeepsie man was arrested after ripping off another person's credit card, cash and a vehicle following a domestic dispute, according to the Town Lloyd Police. Joseph E. Tippa, 42, was charged with grand larceny, criminal contempt, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. following the dispute where he stole the items, according to Lt. James Janso. Tippa was arraigned before Lloyd Town Justice Eugene Rizzo and held without bail in Ulster County Jail.
