Roadway Removal Scheduled Near New TZB Westchester Landing
Motorists should be prepared for northbound lane closures and delays as Tappan Zee Constructors (TZC) begin preparation work next week to remove roadway sections of I-87/I-287 near the new bridge’s Westchester landing. The closures will allow TZC to install new precast concrete slabs in the coming weeks. The work will create a new base roadway for the twin-span crossing’s connection to the Thruway when the second span opens later this year. Woodbury Common Train Station Plans Draw Praise From Cuomo
Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants to add a Metro-North train station at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. “We are putting a Metro-North station at Woodbury Commons, that way you don’t have to drive, you can take the train,’’ Cuomo said last week during a speech at Marist College, as reported by the Middletown Times-Herald-Record.

$14.7M Will Be Spent To Rehab I-84 Bridge In Two-Year Project
The New York State Bridge Authority awarded a $14.7 million contract to rehabilitate the Interstate 84 bridge over Route 9W in the Town of Newburgh. The project will affect I-84 motorists using the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge for two years. A state contract with Castleton-based A. Servidone Inc. calls for the work to be done two lanes at a time, from south to north, and to be completed in 2020, according to the Times Herald-Record. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is forging ahead with a plan to build a tunnel between Westchester County and the north shore of Long Island. Westchester County Executive George Latimer held a news conference at the Ashford Avenue Bridge on Tuesday afternoon to mark the reopening of the entrance/exit ramp (exit 17) to the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway.Reconstruction at Ashford Avenue in Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry is running about four months ahead of schedule, officials said.
