Route 6N Stretch To Close For Months In Hudson Valley For Road Work A stretch of Route 6N in Putnam County will be closed for two months as crews carry out infrastructure work, officials announced.  Route 6N will shut down between Pine Tree Lane and Trailer Court in Carmel beginning Monday, March 23, at midnight, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closure is scheduled to remain in effect through Friday, May 22, as crews replace a culvert in the area. Officials said the work is weather permitting. Drivers traveling through the area will be required to follow a posted detour during the closure, DOT said.

Building Collapses At Yacht Yard In Westchester Authorities rushed to a yacht yard in Westchester after a building collapsed into the water, authorities said. The incident happened in Mamaroneck on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 3 p.m., when a shed building at Nichols Yacht Yard at 500 Rushmore Ave. collapsed, according to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.  According to police, the wood supporting the structure was rotted out.  Soon after the collapse, police, firefighters, building department officials, and Con Edison responded to the scene and cut electricity.  No injuries were reported.
