New Update: Four-Alarm Fire Destroys Building With Businesses, Apartments In Area Ten families and four businesses lost everything they owned during a four-alarm fire that swept through a three-story building that included both businesses and apartments. The fire started around 1:09 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Dutchess County at 10 Market Street, said Village of Wappingers Falls Police Lt. P. Capparelli.  The first officers on the scene, Sgt. Two-Alarm Wappingers Falls Fire Heavily Damages Home A home in the Village of Wappingers Falls was devastated by a two-alarm fire, according to fire officials. The fire, which started around 9:27 a.m. at 21 N. Gilmore Blvd., moved quickly but was extinguished by 10 a.m. by members of the Wappingers Falls, Hughsonville, New Hackensack fire departments.  Red Cross officials have been called to the home to assist displaced residents. No one was injured.

Three Severely Burned, Dog KIlled In Beacon House Fire Three people received severe burns after running down a staircase through fire, and another jumped from a second-story window in an effort to escape flames ripping through their home. According to City of Beacon Fire Chief Gary VanVoorhis, the fire department received a 911 call regarding a house fire around 4:45 a.m. at 98 Rombout Ave., with occupants trapped inside.
