14-Year-Old In Stolen Car Crashes, Killing Person In Hudson Valley A man was killed during a two-vehicle crash with a stolen vehicle driven by a 14-year-old in the Hudson Valley, police say. The crash took place in Dutchess County around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 28 on Route 9 in the town of Rhinebeck. According to Capt. House Destroyed After Massive Fire Breaks Out In Hudson Valley Several fire departments battled a Hudson Valley house fire that destroyed the large home while having to bring in water due to the lack of fire hydrants. The fire took place in Dutchess County in Rhinebeck on Kipp Road around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21. According to the Rhinebeck Fire Department, first arriving firefighters from both Hillside and Rhinebeck found the 2,000-square-foot house fully engulfed in flames. Lightning Strike Burns Electrical Panel At Area Home An intense thunderstorm over the weekend in the Rhinebeck area kept firefighters on the run, especially when a house was struck by lightning. The incident took place around 2:56 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, on Montgomery Street off Route 9 in Rhinebeck, said Rhinebeck Fire Department Spokesman Jeff Cotter. Arriving crews encountered smoke showing from the eaves of the home and a significant amount of smoke throughout the house, Cotter said.
