Hudson Valley Sheriff's Employee Shoots, Kills Self At Work, Police Say An employee of a sheriff's office in the region died by suicide, according to authorities. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center in Kingston. According to Capt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, the employee was located in the center with a a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ulster County resident, Matthew A. Dequarto, age 23, of Rosendale, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 16, for the Monday, Tuesday, Feb. 13 assault, said Lt. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 in Ulster County on I-87 in the town of New Paltz, involving a car vehicle and a tractor-trailer. 40-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash A man from the region was killed in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer. The crash took place in Ulster County in Kingston on Route 28 around 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 26. An investigation revealed that a 2006 Subaru Legacy, driven by Ulster County resident Tramayne Holmes, age 40, of the hamlet of Milton, was traveling eastbound on Route 28 when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over into the westbound lane, and struck a 2022 Peterbilt tractor-trailer head-on, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
