A Westchester County family is grieving the sudden loss of a 10-year-old boy whose death has left loved ones heartbroken.
Jhostin De La Rosa died on Monday, March 17, according to his family, who described his death as "sudden and unimaginable."
“On March 17, our family lost a piece of our hearts. My little brother, Jhostin, passed away at only 10 years old,” his brother, Geovanny De La Rosa, wrote. More information about his death was not made public.
His family said the loss has been overwhelming.

A mother, her teenage daughter, and her sister who were killed in a crash on Saturday, April 19 in Connecticut will be laid to rest together this weekend.
Services for Florinda Antonia Tineo, 50, her daughter Gabriela Johailiz Difo, 17, and her sister Jeannette Tineo, 48, will be held Friday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial. The Dutchess County community is mourning the loss of Eugene “Gene” Murphy—better known as “Murph”—a retired highway department supervisor who died in a devastating house fire.
Murphy, 81, died at his home at 9 Alice St. in Beacon on Tuesday, April 15 after a fast-moving fire broke out just after 6:20 p.m. Three other relatives were injured in the blaze, including his 15-year-old great-grandson, who was left in critical condition with severe burns at Westchester Medical Center, as Daily Voice reported.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Officer Jose A. Santiago Sr., who was killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 17 in New York, police said.

That’s what Maryrose Fealey told her mother, Janet Pizzelli, on Jan. 30, 2024, the day before Pizzelli was set to begin chemotherapy for breast cancer.
“Well, she was wrong,” Pizzelli said of her daughter’s words. “It didn’t get better.”

Vito Perillo, the 100-year-old mayor of a New Jersey borough, died on Sunday, Feb. 23, the borough announced.
Perillo was first elected mayor of Tinton Falls in 2017, at the age of 93 and re-elected in 2021. He was the oldest mayor in the country.

Putnam County resident Ryan Daly, of Mahopac, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, according to his obituary.
Daly was born in North Tarrytown, and he was a graduate of Mahopac High School with the class of 2012, his obituary said.
He went on to earn a bachelor's degree at Savannah College of Art and Design.

Lifelong Northern Westchester County resident and longtime highway supervisor Drew Allan Outhouse died on Sunday, July 11, at the age of 73.
Outhouse lived in North Salem and was a graduate of North Salem High School, according to his obituary.

Funeral Services Announced For Longtime Police Officer Killed In Northern Westchester Crash
Funeral arrangements have been announced for a longtime Putnam County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in a double-fatal crash in Northern Westchester.
Michael J. Moore, 50, of Mahopac, was killed around 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25 on Route 6N, said Yorktown Police.
When police and fire officials arrived on the scene, they found Moore, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, dead.
Denise Ryan, 56, also of Mahopac, the driver of the second vehicle, was found injured and transported to Westchester Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.
