Traffic Alert: Turkey Trot Road Race Will Lead To Road Closures In Yorktown
Yorktown Police are reminding residents of the annual Turkey Trot Road Race, and along with the fun run/walk, road closures. Sponsored by Sen. Terrence Murphy's Office, this year's event will begin on Front Street in front of the Pennysaver building at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 22. The runner's route includes: Front Street to Underhill Avenue, turn left to westbound Underhill Avenue. Underhill Avenue to Route 118, turning left to southbound Route 118. Road Closures Announced For Yorktown Memorial Parade
While the nation celebrates service men and women on Memorial Day over the holiday weekend, there will be several road closures in Yorktown for the annual parade. The Yorktown Police Department issued an alert this week advising area residents that beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 28, the Yorktown VFW Post 8328 will be hosting their annual Memorial Day Parade, which will kick off at Yorktown Town Hall.
