A Long Island doctor sexually abused a patient during a routine appointment in New Hyde Park, Nassau County police said Thursday, March 5.
Dr. Mark Hoffman, a 71-year-old Roslyn resident, was seeing a 48-year-old female patient at his office on May 9, 2025, according to investigators. Hoffman and the victim were alone in the exam room at Optum Hematology Oncology when he had unwanted sexual contact with her, cops said. No nurse was present.

A Long Island priest has been accused of sexually abusing a woman inside a church kitchen, Nassau County police said.
John Adjei-Boamah, 43, was arrested for forcible touching and sexual abuse, according to detectives with the Special Victims Squad.
It happened at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square around 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, authorities said in a Friday, July 4 press release.

A 74-year-old Rockland County man has been charged after allegedly exposing himself and inappropriately touching someone while being driven to an appointment, according to state police.
Donald Hopkins of Suffern was arrested on Saturday, June 21, and charged with public lewdness and forcible touching in connection with the incident, New York State Police announced on Tuesday, June 24.

Northern Westchester Man Charged With Forcible Touching After Walk-In Complaint
A Northern Westchester man has been arrested for allegedly forcibly touching a woman against her will on two separate occasions.
The incident was reported in Yorktown on Thursday, Aug. 25 by the woman who reported the incident to Yorktown Police.
An investigation led police to Jose Pablo Cruz, age 40, of Yorktown who turned himself in to police on Thursday, Sept. 22, said the Yorktown Police.
Cruz was charged with two counts of forcible touching and was held on a $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or $75,000 partially secured bond which he was unable to post, police said.

A police officer who worked in Northern Westchester has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing a woman on four separate occasions.
Michael Agovino, 33, of Palisades, was indicted on 20 counts on Friday, March 20, announced Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr.
The charges are based on several incidents where prosecutors allege that Agovino, while dressed in his Peekskill Police uniform, coerced a victim, illegally entered her home, and sexually abused her, the DA's office said.

14-Year-Old Forcibly Restrained, Touched Victim In Cortlandt, Police Say
A 14-year-old boy entered a home and then forcibly restrained and touched a victim in Northern Westchester, state police said.
An investigation revealed the boy forcibly entered the victim’s residence on Thursday, Feb. 13 in Cortlandt, state police said.
He then proceeded to forcibly restrain and touch the victim for the purpose of sexual gratification, according to police.
