Heavy rainfall has brought flooding to Westchester, causing closures on the Sprain Brook Parkway and Route 9A as well as traffic issues on several other major roadways. Both a stretch of Route 9A in Greenburgh between Payne Street and Hunter Lane as well as the Sprain Brook Parkway at Bradhurst Avenue are closed as of Monday, July 14 at 6 p.m., according to 511NY traffic reports. Flash Flood Warning Issued In Westchester, Rockland, As Heavy Rain Moves In: Here's How Long
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Rockland and Westchester counties in New York and northeastern Bergen County in New Jersey as slow-moving thunderstorms bring torrential rain to the region on Monday afternoon, July 14. A new round of thunderstorms sweeping through the area Tuesday night has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Warnings and Flood Advisories for the region. The Flash Flood Warning, for Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties, is in effect until 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
