Kitchen Fire Prompts Response At Westchester Home (Photos) Firefighters rushed to a Westchester home after a fire began in its kitchen.  The incident began just before 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, when a fire was reported at 33 Grassy Sprain Rd. in Yonkers, according to the Yonkers Fire Department. Crews raced to the scene and were able to knock out the flames before they spread. More information, including if there were injuries, was not immediately available. School Bus Catches On Fire In Westchester With Driver Aboard Firefighters rushed to extinguish an afternoon school bus fire in Westchester. The incident happened in Yonkers on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 4:15 p.m. in the area of 582 Mile Square Rd., according to Yonkers Police Sgt. Robert Spink. No children were on the bus at the time, but the driver and bus monitor were. They both got off and called 911, Spink said.  Firefighters then responded to the scene. Driver Rescued From Flipped Car In North Salem Firefighters had to free a driver from their overturned vehicle following a crash in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 6:20 a.m. when a car rolled over on Titicus Road (Route 116) in North Salem, the Croton Falls Fire Department said on Thursday, Jan. 16.  Arriving fire crews found that the driver was trapped inside and worked to stabilize the vehicle with struts and cribbing.  Once they finished stabilizing it, crews removed the car's sidewall to get to the driver.  The response took around an hour.
