A fire at a senior living complex in Northern Westchester sent 11 residents to a hospital and has displaced those living on an entire floor of a building, fire officials said. The fire happened on Wednesday, Dec. 28 around 12:30 p.m., when firefighters in Yorktown were sent to the Beaver Ridge Apartments located at 1965 Allan Ave. after smoke was reported in the C building, according to Yorktown Heights Fire Department Chief Timothy Mentrasti. Three police officers suffered injuries as they helped rescue residents when a fire broke out in a Westchester apartment building. New Rochelle Police Officer Timothy Childs was on patrol shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 on Pelham Road when he saw smoke coming from a six-unit Franklin Avenue apartment building, prompting him to leap into action. Woman Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Westchester
A woman was rescued from a Westchester home after a fire broke out, officials said. Shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, firefighters in New Rochelle responded to the Chatsworth Place home, Fire Chief Andy Sandor said. Upon arrival, they found flames coming out the front of the home and a woman trapped in the second floor of the burning residence. Area Home Built In 1795 Heavily Damaged By Fire
A LaGrange home built in 1795 received heavy damage following a fire on the second floor and the left side of the home, the LaGrange Fire Department said. The fire started around 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 15 Skidmore Road, said LaGrange Fire Chief Barry Ward. Arriving units found heavy fire on the second floor of the left side of the home, he added.
