Several buildings at Yale University in New Haven were evacuated after multiple bomb threats were reported on campus, officials announced. An alert sent out by the school said that the university has received calls about bombs being placed in multiple buildings on its New Haven campus. Three-Alarm Fire Forces Evacuation Of Westchester Apartment Building
A fire led to the evacuation of a Westchester apartment building, authorities announced. The three-alarm blaze broke out shortly before 5 a.m. in New Rochelle on Monday, Aug. 16 on North Avenue and The Boulevard, prompting an evacuation as crews went to work battling the blaze. Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire, which is believed to have originated in a third-floor residence before spreading. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. A 22-year-old man has admitted to calling in several false bomb threats to a busy Westchester corporate park that led to multiple evacuations.
