Kevin Robert spent his career rushing to help strangers in their darkest moments.
Now, after suffering his own emergency aboard a helicopter, the veteran flight paramedic is being remembered for a lifetime of service and compassion.
Robert, 48, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 27, during a LifeNet flight out of Ticonderoga, the agency revealed in a Facebook tribute. At the time, he was caring for a patient alongside a flight nurse and pilot.

A youth bystander was caught in the effects of pepper spray when police officers nabbed a shoplifting suspect at a Target in Westchester, authorities said.
According to White Plains Public Safety, police responded to Target at 9 City Pl on Wednesday, March 12, at 7:12 p.m., after store employees reported a shoplifting incident.
