Poughkeepsie Shooting Victim Dies In Hospital
A 20-year-old local man who was shot on Monday in Poughkeepsie has died from his wound. Jaquain Johnson of Poughkeepsie was shot around 3:42 a.m. Monday in the area of Mill Street and Garden Street, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Responding officers found Johnson, formerly from the Bronx, shot once in the chest lying in the middle of the westbound lanes of the arterial highway. Body Of Man Pulled From Hudson River
The body of a man was found floating in the Hudson River in the area of the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Dutchess County Sheriff's officials received reports of a possible body floating near the bridge around noon Tuesday, July 31, said Lt. Shawn Castano. Two department boats were dispatched and deputies located the body in the river, he said. The body was removed from the river by members of the Sheriff’s Office, City of Poughkeepsie Police and Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office. A 37-year-old armed with a rifle is fatally shot himself after a domestic dispute resulted in a standoff with responding officers. At about 10:43 p.m. on Friday, July 20, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to 208 Old Route 22 in the Town of Amenia for a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute involving a man in possession of a firearm. Update: The victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4 in the City of Poughkeepsie has been identified. Maurice Black, 25, a Poughkeepsie resident, was stabbed once in the chest at 6 Hoffman Ave., police said. He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A suspect, 30-year-old Michael R. Baker of Poughkeepsie, was taken into custody at the scene. A suspect is in custody after a 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed in an overnight incident in Poughkeepsie, police said. Police received a 911 call reporting the stabbing at 6 Hoffman Ave. at about 1:48 a.m. Wednesday, said Detective Lt. Matt Clark of the Poughkeepsie PD. Man Found Dead Pinned Under Dodge Ram On Route 22
An investigation is underway after a 58-year-old Fairfield County man was found dead underneath a pickup truck in Dutchess County. New York State Police troopers responded to a 911 dispatch of a man pinned under a vehicle on Route 22 in the town of Pawling on Friday, June 1 just before 8 a.m. James C. Roberts of Danbury was trapped under a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. Pawling Fire Department removed the vehicle, but Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by EMStar Paramedics. One person died following a crash between a car and a Red Hook school bus, according to Hyde Park police. According to Lt. Robert Benson, the crash occurred around 8 a.m., Monday in the area of South Quaker Lane and Dana Place. The Town of Poughkeepsie man who was killed after being struck by an empty dump truck and then a car on Lime Kiln Road late Thursday night has been identified. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim, 44-year-old Rudolph Thompson of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was struck while in the southbound lane of Lime Kiln Road by a 2012 Peterbilt tractor hauling an empty dump trailer.
