Gun Violence Threat Leads To Postponement Of Homecoming HS Football Game In Hudson Valley A homecoming high school football game in the region was postponed because of a threat of gun violence. The threat was received several hours before the varsity contest in Dutchess County between rivals John Jay of East Fishkill and host Roy C. Ketcham in Wappingers Falls was scheduled to start Friday night, Oct. 20. Covid-19: School In Area Goes To Remote Learning After Positive Case A school in the area has returned to remote learning for at least 24 hours after a person tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Wappingers Central School District, the person associated with Gayhead Elementary School in Hopewell Junction tested positive for COVID on Sunday, Oct. 25, and is currently in isolation. The school's building and custodial staff to deep clean and disinfect the building on Thursday, Oct. 29.
