An out-of-control fight at Poughkeepsie High School caused a "hold-in-place" at the school as well as a large police response. The incident took place around 12:56 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, when the City of Poughkeepsie Police received a call for help from school security, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Chief Richard T. Wilson. According to the chief, numerous members of the department responded including patrol, traffic, detectives and supervisors. McNerney advised the Greenburgh Town Board that he intends to retire from the Greenburgh Police Department as of Sunday, Aug. 25, as he takes a job with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office as their Chief Criminal Investigator. Missing Hudson Valley Student, 14, Found Dead An area teen who was reported missing late last week was found dead on Sunday, according to school officials. Peekskill Welcomes New Police Academy Graduate Sixty police recruits graduated Friday, May 25 from the Westchester County Police Academy and have landed coveted law enforcement jobs at 16 police departments in Westchester and one in New York City.
