A 57-year-old man faces criminal charges after neglecting several chickens, roosters, and ducks on his Hudson Valley property, authorities announced.
The man was arrested in Putnam County on Monday, Sept. 23 following an investigation conducted at his Mahopac residence, the Putnam County SPCA announced on Friday, Sept. 27.
According to authorities, on the day of the man's arrest, SPCA Law Enforcement Division members met with caseworkers from the county's Child Protective Services at his Mahopac address.

A suspect has been apprehended after a mother and her daughter were found shot to death at an area residence early last week.
The incident took place in Rockland County in a cottage in the rear of 104 Lake Road in Valley Cottage on Tuesday, May 26.
The two, 63-year-old Wanda Castor and 27-year-old Kathleen Castor, both of Valley Cottage, were found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, said Clarkstown Police Chief Ray McCullagh.

Woman Drove Impaired By Drugs With Child In Car, Police Say
A Hyde Park woman was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired by drugs with a child in the vehicle, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said.
Alicia A. Rabenda, 34, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, following a traffic stop on Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie, Capt. Kevin Faber said.
Once stopped, an investigation found that Rabenda was driving under the influence of drugs with a child in the vehicle, police said. The child was turned over to the care of a family member and a referral was made to Child Protective Services, Faber added.
