Bear Spotted Near University Campus In Northern Westchester Officials are warning residents to take precautions after a black bear was sighted multiple times near a university campus in Northern Westchester.  The sightings occurred in the village of Pleasantville on Choate Lane near the campus of Pace University, Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi announced on Wednesday, June 7.  In response to the sightings, Fulgenzi warned residents to take the following precautions to avoid attracting the bear again:  Removing bird feeders; Keeping pet food inside; Keeping garbage containers inside. A large black bear interrupted them as they were fertilizing their lawn in Putnam County. After taking cover inside their home on North Knapp Court, they watched and took the above videos and photos of the unexpected visitor. Before retreating back into the woods, the bear knocked over a wheelbarrow and helped itself to a 40-pound bag of fertilizer, which it carried in its mouth as it made its exit.
