Bicyclist Killed In Crash Near Food Mart In Area, Police Say A Town of Poughkeepsie bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Vassar Road. The crash took place around 6:35 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, on Vassar Road, near the Dimpy's Food Mart at 401 Vassar Road, said the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd. During the crash, a 2010 Honda, operated by a 63-year-old Poughkeepsie resident, struck a 41-year-old bicyclist, also of Poughkeepsie, O'Dowd said. Crews from the Arlington Fire District were dispatched to a Seitz Terrace home at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, where there was a report of smoke coming from the structure. Fire officials said that firefighters were at the scene within minutes and made entry into the home that was filled with smoke. The residence was searched and found to be unoccupied. Worker Seriously Injured After Falling From Roof In Area A 25-year-old man performing construction work on a home was seriously injured after falling from a roof. The accident took place around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 132 Kensington Lane in Poughkeepsie, said Arlington Fire District Deputy Chief Bill Steenbergh. The crash took place around 8:08 p.m. Wednesday on Route 376 (New Hackensack Road) near Cedar Valley Road when a 46-year-old Poughkeepsie resident driving a 2012 Honda CR-V, struck the Poughkeepsie resident, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt.
