DressBarn Going Out Of Business, Closing All 650 Stores DressBarn, the women's clothing chain, is closing all 650 of its stores after being in business for nearly 60 years. Parent company Ascena Retail Group said it plans to focus on its more profitable brands, such as Ann Taylor and Lane Bryant. DressBarn CFO Steven Taylor said the chain "has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.” The closures won’t take place immediately and the company did not say when the stores are expected to shut down. H&M Opening Store At Danbury Fair Mall H&M is returning to Danbury. The trendy clothing retailer will move into Danbury Fair by summer's end or early fall. It will occupy the former Express store space and also space next to it where Ann Taylor was. Fashion Retailer Charlotte Russe To Close Stores In Westchester, Rockland Another traditional brick-and-mortar retailer will soon be shuttering its doors in the Hudson Valley. Charlotte Russe Holding Corp., which operates Charlotte Russe, a fashion brand for females filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection over the weekend, impacted local stores. The company announced that it is planning to close 94 stores, including locations at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights and Rockland Plaza on Route 59 in Nanuet.
