PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Jackson Sydnor, a longtime Peekskill resident died Aug. 14, after a short illness. He was 74.

Sydnor enjoyed playing cards, taking walks, dancing and being the life of the party.

Born in Norwalk on June 28. 1943, Sydnor was predeceased by his parents. Thomas Sr. and Lillian (Jackson) and a brother Thomas Jr.

He is survived by his life partner Bernice Hull, sisters, Mary (Dennis) Fields, Stephanie Smith. Marva Petrus and Claudette (William) Alston. brothers, Novel (Willander) Sydnor, Lloyd (Hyang) Sydnor and brothers in laws, sisters in law, nieces, nephews. cousins and an uncle Lloyd Jackson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10. at 4 pm at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church., 648 Harrison Ave, Peekskill.
