Peekskill Jazz & Blues Festival Returns July 21

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The city's 6th Annual Jazz & Blues Festival will be held on Saturday, July 21 in the downtown.

The event will once again presented by the Peekskill Business Improvement District (BID), and wil be held at the intersection of Central Avenue and North Division Street.  This year's festival runs from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and kicks off with the Jazz & Blues Brunch featuring some of Peekskill's best local musicians performing at various downtown restaurants and cafes. There will also be a craft alley, featuring a variety of finely crafted handmade goods by local artisans, and a food court.  Main Stage music performances start at 4 p.m. and features a diverse range of acts including the New Orleans meets Brazilian sounds of Nation Beat and pianist Marc Cary and his critically-acclaimed Focus Trio.

Also performing will be Lakecia Benjamin & Soul Squad and the multi-Grammy  nominated Bobby Sanabria & Ascensión, who will headline the event.

The downtown streets will be closed to traffic during the event. Local restaurants will be offering outdoor dining, and artists and crafts people will be selling and displaying their work. There will also be activities for families.
