Five Primary Polling Places Set For Peekskill

PEEKSKILL – There will be five polling places open to residents on Tuesday, Sept. 13 for the Independence Party Primary. There are no names on the ballot this year since Peekskill Republicans succeeded in having Democrat Mike Kane removed due to invalid signatures gathering in the endorsement process after he received an endorsement from county party leaders over his opponent, incumbent Republican John Testa. Both Kane and Testa will thus be write-in candidates on the ballot. Polling centers will be open at Columbian Hose Co. on Main Street, Hillcrest Elementary School on Horton Drive, the Peekskill Neighborhood Center on Nelson Avenue, Peekskill High School on Elm Street and Peekskill Middle School on Ringgold Street. The polling centers will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and first-time registered voters will have to bring their ID with them, according to city clerk Pamela Beach.
