PEEKSKILL, NY -- Many of the city's churches will be holding services this weekend in observance of Christmas. Below is a list a list of events being held at some of the larger congregations:
Church of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church
A Christmas Vigil Mass will be held on Christmas Eve in English at 5 p.m. and again in Spanish at 7 p.m., and there will also be a lessons and carols service with the Adult and
Children's Choir starting at 4:30 p.m.
A Midnight Mass will also be held, with Christmas carols starting at 11:30 p.m.
Christmas Day services will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and again in Spanish at 2:30 p.m.
Mount Olivet Baptist Church
There will be a candlelight service at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Sunday services will be held at the normal 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. times.
United Methodist Church of Peekskill
A candlelight service will be held on Christmas Eve at 7 p.m.
St. Peter's Episcopal Church
There will be a family service at 5 p.m. and a candlelight service at 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and a 10 a.m. service on Christmas Day.
Peekskill Presbyterian Church
There will be a candlelight service with Holy Communion on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. The church is also offering a free Christmas Day dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call ahead at (914) 737-3322 for more information.
