Marks Foundation To Hold Masquerade Ball This Fall

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – The Kathleen F. Marks Memorial Foundation will host its first major fundraising event this fall.

The foundation is a newly established charity whose mission is to fundraise for cancer research & host fundraisers for cancer patients in financial need.

The Formal Masquerade Ball will take place at The Mansion at Colonial Terrace, located at 119 Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor, on the evening of Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. and will continue until midnight. Dinner, dancing, an aerial show and silent auction are just a few of the items in the evening’s agenda.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Division of Pediatric Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, research of Acute Myeloid leukemia. Tickets will be available online through the foundation website www.KFMFoundation.org starting July 15.

Marks lost her four year fight with cervical cancer in October 2001. The foundation was created in her memory one year ago by Kathleen’s eldest daughters Crystal Schwer, President & Isis Kline, Vice president.

The foundation’s debut event is the first of many to come but Halloween was Kathleen’s Favorite holiday, and October is the 11th anniversary of her passing.

To purchase tickets in person, they will be available at all of the community events the foundation has scheduled on their event calendar (available on the website) through October.  Tickets will also be available at the foundations game booth at The Peekskill Celebration at Riverfront Green Park Aug. 3 and Aug. 4.
