Five Firefighters Injured In Two-Alarm Blaze At Waste Management Facility In Westchester
Five firefighters suffered injuries on Tuesday morning as they battled a blaze that broke out in a Westchester waste management facility. Fire crews responded to the A-1 Compaction facility at 325 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, where the fire sent smoke soaring through the windy conditions. Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Flynn said that upon arrival, firefighters found a heavy volume of fire that had been started in a garbage fire. A two-alarm fire broke out at a Waste Management facility in Westchester, sending smoke billowing through the area. Suez To Invest $440 Million In Water Quality, Service Improvements
Water and waste management provider SUEZ is investing a total of $440 million over the next five years to provide an enhanced customer experience and make improvements to service and water quality. SUEZ serves almost 500,000 people throughout Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Putnam and Tioga Counties. The plan was initially filed with the New York State Public Service Commission Monday, March 4. Large Truck Leaking Fuel Causes Road Closure In Ossining
Update: Police said that the scene is nearly cleaned up, and Main Street is expected to reopen at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday afternoon. All hands were on deck Monday morning on Main Street in Ossining, as crews worked quickly to clean up a massive oil spill in the area that forced a lengthy road closure.
