Road Rage: 23-Year-Old Found Guilty In Hudson Valley Death Of Beloved Grandfather Of 18
A 23-year-old Hudson Valley man has been found guilty of fatally stabbing a beloved grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of five, during a road rage incident.
Orange County resident Horace Duke, of the town of Wallkill, was found guilty of manslaughter on Tuesday, April 25 by a jury.
According to court records, on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, Duke was involved in a vehicle crash with Joel Laddy, age 74, of Middletown.

Found: 28-Year-Old Hudson Valley Mother Of 3 Had Been Missing Since July
A 28-year-old Hudson Valley woman who went missing nine-and-a-half months ago has been found.
Orange County resident Heather Callas, of Port Jervis, a mother of three who was reported missing Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, by her mother, had not been seen or heard from since Saturday, July 2.
Callas left voluntarily and was believed to have traveled to New York City, according to the Port Jervis Police Department.
On Friday, April 14, the Port Jervis PD announced Callas was located Thursday evening, April 13.
"She is safe and is no longer missing," the department said.

Man Indicted For Fatal Stabbing Of Senior Citizen In Hudson Valley Road Rage Incident
A Hudson Valley grand jury has indicted a 22-year-old man for manslaughter in connection with a stabbing death during a road rage incident.
Orange County resident Horace Duke, of Wallkill, was indicted on Thursday, Nov. 3 for manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon for the Sunday, Oct. 30 incident, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Duke was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, $500,000 bond, or $750,00 partially secured bond.

Covid-19: Police Sergeant In Hudson Valley Dies From Virus
A much loved and longtime police officer from the Hudson Valley has died from COVID-19.
Town of Wallkill Police Sergeant Barry Weissman, age 70, of Middletown, died on Saturday, Jan. 23, from the effects of COVID-19, the Town of Wallkill Police Department said.
The department, which said his death is considered a "line of duty death," added that Weissman began his career with the department in 1982 part-time, and became a full-time officer in 1997.
